Social security: employed persons, self-employed persons and members of their families moving within the Community

The European Parliament adopted a legislative resolution based on the report drafted by Csaba ŐRY (EPP-ED, HU) amending, under the 1st reading of the codecision procedure, the proposal for a regulation amending Council Regulation (EEC) No 1408/71 on the application of social security schemes to employed persons, to self-employed persons and to members of their families moving within the Community. Parliament made a number of technical amendments that seek to simplify the proposal, correct errors and omissions and update the annexes to Regulation 1408/71. The amendments reflect changes to the titles of a number of social security payments and correct a typographical error in the proposal.
