EC/Russia Partnership and Cooperation Agreement. Protocol after the accession of Bulgaria and Romania
PURPOSE: to include the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania in the approved Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the EU and the Russian Federation.
LEGISLATIVE ACT: Council and Commission Decision 2007/541/EC, Euratom, on the conclusion of the Protocol to the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement establishing a partnership between the European Communities and their Member States, on the one hand, and the Russian Federation, on the other, to take account of the accession of the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania to the European Union.
CONTENT: with this decision, the Protocol to the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the European Communities and their Member States, on the one hand, and the Russian Federation, on the other, to take account of the accession of the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania to the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement is approved on behalf of the European Community, the European Atomic Energy Community and the Member States.
As a reminder, the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) EC-Russia entered into force on 1 December 1997 (see AVC/1994/0151).
ENTRY INTO FORCE: the Protocol will enter into force when all of the necessary procedures have been completed.
