EU Solidarity Fund: mobilisation for Italy following the Abruzzo earthquake in 2009

The European Parliament adopted by 620 votes to 4 with 14 abstentions, a resolution approving the proposal for a decision on the mobilisation of the European Union Solidarity Fund.
The Fund is mobilised in favour of Italy. The resolution states that, for the general budget of the European Union for the financial year 2009, the Solidarity Fund will be mobilised to provide the sum of EUR 493 771 159 in commitment and payment appropriations.
In parallel with this proposal, the Commission has presented a preliminary amending budget (PDAB No 9/2009) in order to enter in the 2009 budget (see BUD/2009/2087).
