Employment and Social Solidarity: Progress Programme 2007-2013

PURPOSE: to reallocate EUR 60 million from the Progress Programme to the new European Microfinance Facility for employment and social inclusion.

LEGISLATIVE ACT: Decision No 284/2010/EU of the European Union and of the Council amending Decision No 1672/2006/EC establishing a Community Programme for Employment and Social Solidarity — Progress.

CONTENT: to give unemployed people the chance of a new start and to open the way to entrepreneurship for some of Europe’s most disadvantaged groups, including women and the young, Parliament and the Council have adopted a new European microfinance facility for employment and social inclusionto develop micro-enterprises and the social economy. This Decision reallocates the amount of EUR 60 million from the Progress programme 2007-2013, to the new European progress microfinance facility.

The financial envelope for the Progress programme for the period from 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2013 is set at EUR 683 250 000.
