Wheeled agricultural and forestry tractors: rear-mounted roll-over protection structures

PURPOSE: to codify Directive 86/298/EEC on rear-mounted roll-over protection structures of narrow-track wheeled agricultural and forestry tractors.

PROPOSED ACT: Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council.

LEGAL BASE: Article 114 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU.

CONTENT: the purpose of this proposal is to undertake a codification of Council Directive 86/298/EEC of 26 May 1986 on rear-mounted roll-over protection structures of narrow-track wheeled agricultural and forestry tractors. The new Directive will supersede the various acts incorporated in it. This proposal fully preserves the content of the acts being codified and hence does no more than bring them together with only such formal amendments as are required by the codification exercise itself.
