Wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors: installation, location, operation and identification of the controls

PURPOSE: to undertake a codification of Council Directive 86/415/EEC on the installation, location, operation and identification of the controls of wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors.

PROPOSED ACT: Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council.

LEGAL BASE: Article 114 of the treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU).

CONTENT: the purpose of this proposal is to undertake a codification of Council Directive 86/415/EEC of 24 July 1986 on the installation, location, operation and identification of the controls of wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors.

The new Directive will supersede the various acts incorporated in it. This proposal fully preserves the content of the acts being codified and hence does no more than bring them together with only such formal amendments as are required by the codification exercise itself.

BUDGETARY IMPLICATION: this proposal has no implication for the EU budget.
