Trade in foodstuffs: indications or marks identifying the lot to which a foodstuff belongs. Codification
PURPOSE: to codify Council Directive 89/396/EEC on indications or marks identifying the lot to which a foodstuff belongs.
LEGISLATIVE ACT: Directive 2011/91/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on indications or marks identifying the lot to which a foodstuff belongs.
CONTENT: Council Directive 89/396/EEC of 14 June 1989 on indications or marks identifying the lot to which a foodstuff belongs has been substantially amended several times. In the interests of clarity and rationality, that Directive should be codified.
The new Directive will supersede the various acts incorporated in it. It fully preserves the content of the acts being codified and hence does no more than bring them together with only such formal amendments as are required by the codification exercise itself.
