Appointment of Neven Mimica as a member of the Commission

The European Parliament adopted by 565 votes to 64, with 64 abstentions, a decision approving the appointment of Neven MIMICA (HR) as Member of the Commission (Consumer Policy portfolio) for the remainder of the Commission’s term of office until 31 October 2014.

This appointment takes effect on 1 July 2013, the date on which Croatia accedes to EU membership.

Parliament’s decision follows the hearing of Mr MIMICA on 4 June 2013, led by the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, in association with the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, as well as the statement of evaluation drawn up following that hearing.
