Commission Work Programme 2015

The European Parliament voted on seven draft resolutions dedicated to the 2015 Work Programme setting out the Commission’s priorities for the next 12 months. None of the resolutions presented by the EPP, S&D, ALDE, Greens/EFA, ECR, GUE/NGL and EFDD groups achieved the necessary majority to be adopted.

It should be noted that the Work Programme sets out 23 new initiatives which the Commission is committed to adopting in 2015. These initiatives focus on concrete actions, notably to give a new boost to jobs, growth and investment, in line with the ten priorities in the Political Guidelines of the Juncker Commission which are:

• an Investment Plan for Europe implementing the EUR 315 billion investment plan to boost the real economy and create jobs and growth;
• an ambitious Digital Single Market Package creating the conditions for a vibrant digital economy and society;
• a new sustainable climate policy and a socially just energy policy;
• a socio-economically balanced internal market with a strengthened industrial base;
• democratic economic and monetary policies including strengthening the fight against tax evasion and fiscal fraud;
• a fair and balanced free-exchange Agreement with the United States;
• a real justice and fundamental rights policy based on mutual confidence;
• a European Agenda on migration;
• enhancing the EU’s role at international level;
• a more transparent and democratic Union.
