Appointment of Julian King (UK) as a member of the Commission

In accordance with Article 246 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) and following the resignation of Jonathan Hill as a Member of the Commission, the European Parliament approved by 394 votes to 161 with 83 abstentions, the appointment of Julian King as a Member of the Commission.
Julian King’s hearing on 12 September 2016 was led by the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. The statement of evaluation was drawn up following that hearing.
