Court of Auditors: appointment of a Belgian member

The European Parliament decided by 550 votes to 43, with 39 abstentions, to deliver a favourable opinion on the Council's nomination of Annemie Turtelboom (Belgian candidate) as a Member of the Court of Auditors.

By letter of 3 October 2023, the Council consulted Parliament on the nomination of Annemie Turtelboom as a Member of the Court of Auditors.

Parliament’s Committee on Budgetary Control then proceeded to evaluate Annemie Turtelboom’s credentials. In carrying out that evaluation, the committee received a curriculum vitae from Annemie Turtelboom, as well as the replies to the written questionnaire that she had been sent. The committee subsequently held a hearing with Annemie Turtelboom on 7 November 2023, at which she made an opening statement and then answered questions put by the members of the committee.
