Court of Auditors: appointment of an Italian member

The European Parliament decided by 316 votes to 186, with 31 abstentions, to deliver a favourable opinion on the Council’s nomination of Carlo Alberto Manfredi Selvaggi (Italian candidate) as a Member of the Court of Auditors.

By letter of 17 January 2024, the Council consulted Parliament on the nomination of Carlo Alberto Manfredi Selvaggi as a Member of the Court of Auditors.

Parliament’s Committee on Budgetary Control then proceeded to evaluate Carlo Alberto Manfredi Selvaggi’s credentials. In carrying out that evaluation, the committee received a curriculum vitae from Carlo Alberto Manfredi Selvaggi, as well as the replies to the written questionnaire that he had been sent.

The committee subsequently held a hearing with Carlo Alberto Manfredi Selvaggi on 22 February 2024, at which he made an opening statement and then answered questions put by the members of the committee.
