Amending certain road transport and aviation Regulations as regards certain reporting requirements

PURPOSE: to make limited and targeted amendments to three regulations with a view to streamlining certain reporting requirements in the road transport and aviation sectors.

LEGISLATIVE ACT: Regulation (EU) 2024/1230 of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulations (EC) No 80/2009, (EU) No 996/2010 and (EU) No 165/2014 as regards certain reporting requirements in the fields of road transport and aviation.

CONTENT: reporting requirements play a key role in ensuring proper monitoring and correct enforcement of legislation. However, it is important to streamline such requirements, in order to ensure that they fulfil the purpose for which they were intended and to limit the administrative burden.

Regulation (EC) No 80/2009 on a code of conduct for computerised reservation systems, Regulation (EU) No 996/2010 on the investigation of accidents and incidents in civil aviation and Regulation (EU) No 165/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council on tachographs in road transport lay down several reporting requirements in the fields of road transport and aviation.

This Regulation concerns limited and targeted amendments to the legislation in order to simplify and streamline the reporting requirements.
