Court of Auditors: appointment of a Romanian member

The European Parliament decided by 437 votes to 128, with 92 abstentions, to give a favourable opinion on the Council's proposal to nominate Lucian Romașcanu as a member of the Court of Auditors.

The Committee on Budgetary Control evaluated the proposed candidate's qualifications. As part of this evaluation, the committee received a curriculum vitae from the candidate and his responses to the written questionnaire sent to him. The committee then held a hearing with the candidate on 18 March 2025, during which he made an opening statement and then answered questions from committee members.
