Monitoring framework for resilient European forests

The European Parliament adopted a legislative resolution rejecting the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on a monitoring framework for resilient European forests.
Parliament called on the Commission to withdraw its proposal.
The request for referral back to the committee was rejected by 261 votes to 358, with 12 abstentions. Parliament's first reading is therefore closed.
The proposal aimed to establish a comprehensive EU forest monitoring framework for the collection of forest data.
