Lithuania: membership application and partnership, 8 December 1995

Following the application to join the European Union submitted by Lithuania (8 December 1995), the Council decided to implement the procedure provided for in the Treaty and ask the Commission to draw up its opinion on this application. The President of the Council will write to the authorities of Lithuania, to inform them of this decision.�
