EC/Uzbekistan Partnership and Cooperation Agreement

The Council agreed to the Commission's recommendation for the opening of negotiations with Uzbekistan for a partnership and cooperation agreement on the basis of the negotiating directives drawn up in 1992. The Commission's recommendation follows its exploratory talks with Uzbekistan on the basis of the Council conclusions of 12 June 1995 with particular regard to the progress of democratic reforms�
