EC/Azerbaijan interim agreement

OBJECTIVE: conclusion of an interim agreement between the Community and the Republic of Azerbaijan on trade and trade-related measures. SUBSTANCE: the proposal concerns the conclusion of an interim agreement providing for provisional implementation of the part of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement on trade and trade-related measures initialled in Brussels on 20 September 1996 between the Communities and Azerbaijan. The agreement is concluded for a period ending with the entry into force of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement. As far as Azerbaijan is concerned, it replaces the relevant provisions of the Agreement on Trade and Commercial and Economic Cooperation signed on 18 December 1989 between the Communities and the USSR.�
