Agricultural products: measures for the benefit of french overseas departments (amend. Regulation (EEC) No 3763/91)

PURPOSE : to provide assistance, as regards structural measures, for the French overseas departments. COMMUNITY MEASURE : Council Regulation 1448/2001/EC amending, as regards structural measures, Regulation 3763/91/EEC introducing specific measures in respect of certain agricultural products. CONTENT : The structures of certain agricultural holdings or processing and marketing enterprises located in the French overseas departments show serious shortcomings. these measures are intended to alleviate some of the difficulties. - the Community contribution for all four of the accompanying measures in Regulation 1257/99/EC, which includes agri-environmental measures, will be 85%. - the total value of the aid referred to in that regulation, expressed as a percentage of the volume of eligible investments, will not exceed 75% for investments to encourage diversification, restructuring or a shift towards sustainable agriculture on agricultural holdings of small economic size. - the total value of the aid shall not exceed 65% for investments in enterprises engaged in processing and marketing agricultural products consisting mainly of local produce. The total value of the aid for SMEs will not be more than 75%. - certain restrictions on the grant of forestry support will not apply to tropical forests or wooded areas in the French overseas departments. ENTRY INTO FORCE : the Regulation is binding from 01/01/2000.�
