Rules and arrangements for structural assistance in the fisheries sector: maximum rates of assistance

PURPOSE : to increase the maximum rates of assistance for the Financial Instrument for Fisheries Guidance (FIFG) with regard to the outermost regions in particular. COMMUNITY MEASURE : Council Regulation 1451/2001/EC amending Regulation 2792/1999/EC laying down detailed rules and arrangements regarding Community structural assistance in the fisheries sector. CONTENT : The limits which apply to the FIFG remain below the special provisions laid down in Regulation 1260/1999/EC for certain categories of Objective 1 regions. This could be damaging for the development of outermost regions. Regulation 2792/1999/EC is amended: -in the case of SMEs the (A) rates for groups 2 and 3 may be increased by an amount for types of finance other than direct assistance, provided that this increase does not exceed 10% of the total eligible cost. The contribution of the private beneficiary is reduced accordingly. ENTRY INTO FORCE : The Regulation is applicable from 01/01/2001.�
