Olive oil: aid scheme in force up and including the 2004/2005 marketing year (amend. Regulation (EEC) No 2262/84)

PURPOSE : to lay down specific measures in respect of olive oil.
COMMUNITY MEASURE : Council Regulation 2292/2001/EC amending Regulation 2262/84/EC laying down special measures in respect of olive oil.
CONTENT : the Council has decided to introduce a new aid scheme from 1 November 2001 and bearig in mind that the current aid scheme remains in force up to and including the 2003/04 marketing year, provision should be made to continue the Community contribution to the expenditure incurred by the agencies carrying out certain checks in connection with the olive oil production aid scheme up to and including the 2003/04 year. Provision should also be made to continue the contribution to the expenditure incurred by the agencies during the 2004/05 marketing year in order to allow them to carry out the necessary complementary verifications of the systems of controls provided under Article 1(2) of Regulation 2262/84/EEC. In 2003, the Commission will consider the need to continue the Community contribution to the expenditure of the agencies during 2004/05 marketing year in the context of the proceedings planned for the reform of the common market organisation in the sector in question and shall present a proposal to the Council on the financing of this expenditure.
