School education: European cooperation in quality evaluation. Recommendation

In response to the opinion of the European Parliament at first reading, the Commission presents an amended proposal for a recommendation containing, in substance or in part, all the 42 amendments tabled. The Parliament's amendments seek to: - strengthen the follow-up measures recommended in the Commission proposal; - introduce explicit references to the crucial role played by indicators and benchmarks; - extend and clarify the political scope of the recommendation; - introduce new recitals which clarify the proposal and stress the various objectives behind efforts to evaluate the quality of school education. �
