Agricultural products: measures for the benefit of french overseas departments (amend. Regulation (EEC) No 3763/91)

PURPOSE: to present a Commission proposal for a Council Regulation amending Regulation 3763/91/EEC introducing specific measures in respect of certain agricultural products for the benefit of the French overseas departments as regards the structural measures. CONTENT: the main provisions of the proposed regulation are the following: - the total value of aid, expressed as a precentage of the volume of eligible investments, shall not exceed 75% for investments intended in particular to encourage diversification, restructuring or a shift towards sustainable agriculture on agricultural holdings of very small economic size; - the total value of aid, expressed as a percentage of the volume of eligible investments, shall not exceed 65% for investments in small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in processing and marketing agricultural products consisting mainly of local produce in sectors yet to be defined; - to extend Community financial support for woodlands and areas owned by individuals, associations of individuals, or municipalities or associations of municipalities, to woodlands and areas owned by any public, local, regional or national authority.�
