Training programme for professionals in the European audiovisual programme industry (MEDIA-Training): extension until 2006

The committee adopted the report by Gianni VATTIMO (PES, I) approving the proposal under the 1st reading of the codecision procedure, subject to an amendment calling for the budget for the MEDIA Training Programme to be increased by a further EUR 2 million, in line with the revised Financial Perspective for enlargement. The committee also called for the Commission to provide a full and detailed assessment report on the MEDIA Training Programme no later than 31 December 2005, in time for Parliament to consider the proposal for a new MEDIA Training Programme planned to start in 2007.�
