Setting up an employment and labour market policy Commitee

The Committee on Social Affairs and Employment adopted the report by Mr THEONAS (GUE/NGL, EL) on the setting up of an Employment and Labour Market Policy Committee. Whilst approving the Commission proposal, the report put forward a number of amendments aimed essentially at strengthening coordination between the Member States' employment policies and spelling out the need for regularly consulting the two sides of industry at Community level as well as cooperating more closely with Parliament.�
