Employment: new European labour markets before 2005, 2002 action plan

The committee adopted the report by Mauro NOBILIA (UEN, I) on the Commission communication. It called on the Commission to submit before the spring 2002 European Council an action plan on promoting mobility as well as legislative proposals on the recognition of qualifications and skills and the "portability" of social security entitlements. The Council was also asked to produce a qualitative study on any distortions of the labour market which might result from a significant increase in labour migration. �
