EC/ASEAN: extension of the EC/ASEAN cooperation agreement to Vietnam

OBJECTIVE: the decision seeks to extend the cooperation agreement concluded between the Community and the ASEAN member states to the Republic of Vietnam. SUBSTANCE: Following Vietnam's accession to ASEAN on 28 July 1995, the Community intends to extend the cooperation agreement which has linked it to this organization since 7 March 1980 (then extended to Brunei on 21 March 1985) to Vietnam. The extension of the cooperation agreement takes the form of a protocol and does not include a financial protocol. �
