Transport of dangerous goods by road, inland waterways or rail: examination requirements for safety advisers

1998/0106(COD)
The Commission's amended proposal takes up 7 of the amendments proposed by the European Parliament in its first reading. These relate to: - improving the coherence of the text by specifying that the Member States ensure that the safety advisers for the transport of dangerous goods are examined in line with the requirements laid down in the Directive; - specify that the candidates must demonstrate in the course of the examination that they possess the necessary knowledge to be in a position to be able to advise a company whose activity involves the transport of dangerous goods or the loading or unloading connected with such transport; - ensure that the written examination can be complemented by an oral element; - introduce minimum requirements regarding the questions asked at the examination; - postpone to 30/06/1999 the date for the notification by the Member States concerning the introduction of their relevant legislation.
