Substances that deplete the ozone layer

In adopting the report by Mr Alavanos (CG, EL) by 131 votes to 95, with 8 abstentions, Parliament called for greater restrictions on the use of chlorofluorcarbons, halogens, carbon tetrachlorides, trichlorethane, methyl bromide, hydrobromofluorcarbons and hydrochlorofluorcarbons. It also called for the introduction of a stricter timetable for the use of these substances. �
