2004 enlargement: accession strategies for environment with the candidate countries CEECs

The Parliament adopted its resolution, drafted by Ms. Riita Myller (PES, Finland), concerning accession strategies for environment. The resolution stresses that the environment must be one of the main priorities in the accession negotiations. It calls on the Commission to draw up a list of the most important areas of EU environmental legislation with which candidate countries are required to comply at the time of accession.�
