Conservation of fishery resources (regul. 3094/86/EEC). Codified version

OBJECTIVE: to consolidate Regulation (EEC) No 3094/86 laying down certain technical measures for the conservation of fishery resources. COMMUNITY MEASURE: Council Regulation (EC) No 894/97 laying down certain technical measures for the conservation of fishery resources. CONTENT: in the interests of clarity and rationality, this regulation is intended to consolidate Regulation (EEC) No 3094/86, which has been substantially amended several times. In order to ensure the protection of marine biological resources and the balanced exploitation of fishery resources in the interests of both fishermen and consumers, the regulation lays down technical measures for the conservation of those resources specifying, inter alia, mesh sizes, by- catch rates, fish sizes permitted and the limitation of fishing within certain areas and periods with certain gear.
