Protocol on the privileges and immunities: application to the former EC officials (amend. Regul. 549/69/EEC)

OBJECTIVE: to extend the scope of the provisions for applying the tax for the benefit of the European Communities to the officials and temporary staff affected by the termination-of-services measures introduced as a result of the accession of Austria, Sweden and Finland and to add them to the categories of officials and other servants to whom the provisions of the second paragraph of Article 13 of the Protocol on the Privileges and Immunities of the Communities apply. COMMUNITY MEASURE: Regulation (ECSC/EC/EURATOM) No 2191/97 amending Regulation (ECSC/EC/EURATOM) No 549/69. CONTENT: the aim of the regulation is to exempt the monthly allowance paid to former officials and temporary staff subject to early termination of service from national income tax and to require them to pay the tax introduced for the benefit of the European Communities.
