EC/Switzerland agreement: ecopoints for heavy vehicles travelling through Austria from 1st January 2004

Following the conciliation agreement of 25 November 2003 between Council and Parliament on the transitional points system (ecopoints) applicable to heavy goods vehicles travelling through Austria, the European Parliament approved agreements on the number of ecopoints to be allocated to heavy goods vehicles registered in Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) for 2004, 2005 and 2006. (Please see CNS/2003/0319, CNS/2003/0320, and CNS/2003/0323.) As the agreements are to be applied from 1 January 2004, the vote was under Article 112 of the Rules of Procedure (urgent procedures).�
