Electronic communications: common regulatory framework for networks and services. Framework Directive

The European Parliament adopted the report by Mr Reino PAASILINNA (PES, FIN) with numerous amendments to the Commission's proposal for a common regulatory framework for telecommunications networks. (Please refer to the previous text). It should also be mentioned that the new legal framework will cover all satellite-based and terrestrial communications networks, i.e both the public telephone network and networks using the Internet and protocol, as well as cable television, mobile and terrestrial broadcasting networks. �
