Security in connection with football matches with an international dimension. Initiative Belgium

The European Parliament adopted the resolution drafted by its rapporteur Gerard DEPREZ (EPP-ED, Belgium) on security at international football matches. (Please refer to the document dated 20/02/02.) Parliament inserted a clause stating that, if an individual is arrested for an alleged offence, he shall be informed in a language that he understands and shall have access to an interpreter during court proceedings. He is also entitled to receive translations of documents relating to court proceedings.�
