EC/Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia FYROM agreement: stabilisation and association agreement, protocol after the 2004 enlargement

PURPOSE : to enable the 10 New Member States to adhere to the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the European Communities and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM).

PROPOSED ACT : Council and Commission Decision on the conclusion of the Protocol to the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.

CONTENT : in accordance with Article 6 (2)of the Treaty of Accession of the new Member States to the European Union, the accession of these new Member States to the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the EU and FYROM, which entered into force on 1 April 2004, should be approved by the conclusion of a protocol to this Agreement. This is the aim of this proposal. The text of the Protocol is attached to this decision.
