EIB loans to Greece : reconstruction after the earthquake of September 1999, relieving the interest burden

PURPOSE : to grant funds to Hellenic Republic in order to compensate partially for the interest paid on European Investment bank loans for the reconstruction of the region which was devastated by the earthquake of September 1999. COMMUNITY MEASURE : Council Decision 2000/786/EC on the grant of funds to the Hellenic Republic in order to compensate partially for the interest paid on European Investment Bank loans for the reconstruction of the region which was devastated by the earthquake of September 1999. CONTENT : the objective of this Decision is to grant Greece with a sum of EUR 2 million in order to partially compensate for the interest paid on EIB loans for the reconstruction of buildings, infrastructure, and industrial installations including small and medium enterprises in the Attica region affected by the earthquake. The amount shall be granted in one instalment. ENTRY INTO FORCE : 13.12.2000.�
