2005 budget: EP's estimates, adjustment of the remunerations

 The committee adopted the report by Anne Elisabet JENSEN (ADLE, DK) on Parliament's estimates for an Amending Budget for 2005 to take account of the lower than expected adjustment for staff salaries and pensions in 2004. The report noted "the existence of a potential surplus in Parliament's budget for 2005" and asked the Secretary-General to re-examine the situation in July 2005 and, possibly, submit to the Bureau preliminary draft estimates for an amending budget to avoid the cancellation of appropriations at the end of the year. The Secretary-General was also requested to put forward a proposal for revised long-term planning of Parliament's property policy.
