Wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors: steering equipment (repeal. Directive 75/321/EEC). Codification

PURPOSE: to codify provisions on the steering equipment of wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors.

PROPOSED ACT: Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council.

CONTENT: the purpose of this proposal is to codify Council Directive 75/321/EEC on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the steering equipment of wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors. In codifying legislative acts that have been amended frequently the EU is seeking to both simplify and clarify EU legislation.

Given that no changes of substance have been made to the instruments affected by the codification exercise this proposal will be the subject of an accelerated procedure. The new Directive will supersede the various acts incorporated in it. If fully preserves the content of the acts being codified and hence does no more than bring them together, with only such formal amendments as are required by the codification exercise itself.
