Europol staff: adjustment of basic salaries and allowances. Council Decision

PURPOSE: to adjust the basic salaries and allowances applicable to Europol staff.

PROPOSED ACT: Council Decision.

CONTENT: the draft Decision, based on a Finnish initiative, aims to review the remuneration of Europol officials based on the changes in the cost of living in the Netherlands, as well as of the changes in salaries in the public service in the Member States.

The review period from 1 July 2005 to 30 June 2006 justifies an increase of 1.5 % of remuneration for the period from 1 July 2006 to 30 June 2007.

It is for the Council, acting unanimously, to adjust the basic salaries and allowances of officials of Europol, on the basis of the review. A table shows the exact amount of basic monthly salaries of Europol staff.
