Wheeled agricultural and forestry tractors: installation of lighting and light-signalling devices (repeal. Directive 78/933/EEC). Codification

The Committee on Legal Affairs adopted the report by Mr Hans-Peter MAYER (EPP-ED, DE) approving, under the first reading of the codecision procedure, the proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and the Council relating to the installation of lighting and light-signalling devices on wheeled agricultural and forestry tractors (codified version).

Although it was not the subject of any “formal” amendments, the proposal does, however, take into account the recommendations of the Consultative Working Party of the respective legal services of the European Parliament, Council and Commission, which make a number of technical observations on the text of the codified proposal.

The proposed text was subsequently adapted.

Aside from these factors, the proposal is a straightforward codification of existing texts, without any change in their substance.
