Marketing of vegetable propagating and planting material, other than seed (repeal. Directive 92/33/EEC). Codification

The Committee on Legal Affairs adopted the report by Lidia Joanna GERINGER DE OEDENBERG (PES, PL) approving, under the consultation procedure, the proposal for a Council directive on the marketing of vegetable propagating and planting material, other than seed (codified version).

While no “formal” amendments were made to the proposal, the committee nevertheless took note of the recommendations of the Consultative Working Party of the legal services of the European Parliament, Council and Commission, which considered that the text of the proposal should not include any new amendments in relation to the initial text of the European Commission.

The proposal is a straightforward codification of existing texts, without any change in their substance.
