Heritage protection: return of cultural objects unlawfully removed from the territory of a Member State

The European Parliament adopted, by 563 votes to 17 with 5 abstentions, a resolution and approved, under 1st reading of the co-decision procedure, the proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the return of cultural objects unlawfully removed from the territory of a Member State (codified version). The report was tabled for consideration in plenary by Lidia Joanna GERINGER de OEDENBERG (PES, PL), on behalf of the Committee on Legal Affairs.

The proposal was approved as adapted to the recommendations of the Consultative Working Party of the Legal Services of the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission.
