Amending budget 6/2007: Section III, Commission, EU Solidarity Fund, accession to the World Customs Organisation, damage requests resulting from legal procedures, Civil Protection Financial Instrument and Financial Instrument for the Environment (LIFE+)

PURPOSE: final adoption of amending budget No 6/2007.

LEGISLATIVE ACT: 2007/828/EC, Euratom.

CONTENT: the European Parliament finally adopted amending budget No 6/2007 of the European Union, in accordance with its resolution of 24 October 2007 (please see the summary of the resolution).

The aim of this amending budget is to:

• mobilise the European Union Solidarity Fund for a total amount of EUR 172.2 million in commitment appropriations in order to provide financial assistance to Germany and France following major storms in 2007;
• create a new budget Article to support financial obligations stemming from the accession of the European Communities to the World Customs Organisation;
• mobilise new funds for an amount of EUR 35.5 million in commitment appropriations to pay damages to applicants following the Court of First Instance final judgements;
• integrate into the 2007 budget the necessary technical adjustments following the adoption by the Council of several Decisions.
