Wheeled agricultural and forestry tractors: installation of lighting and light-signalling devices (repeal. Directive 78/933/EEC). Codification

PURPOSE: to codify Council Directive 78/933/EEC relating to the installation of lighting and light-signalling devices on wheeled agricultural and forestry tractors.

 LEGISLATIVE ACT: Directive 2009/61/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council relating to the installation of lighting and light-signalling devices on wheeled agricultural and forestry tractors (Codified version).

CONTENT: the purpose of this Directive is to codify Council Directive 78/933/EEC of 17 October 1978 relating to the installation of lighting and light-signalling devices on wheeled agricultural and forestry tractors.  In codifying legislative acts that have been amended frequently the EU is seeking to both simplify and clarify EU legislation.

This new Directive will supersede the various acts incorporated in it. It fully preserves the content of the acts being codified and hence does no more than bring them together, with only such formal amendments as are required by the codification exercise itself.

ENTRY INTO FORCE: 25/08/2009.

APPLICATION: from 01/01/2010.
