United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE): approval of vehicles, accession to Regulation No 29

PURPOSE: to approve, on behalf of the European Union, the accession of the Union to Regulation No 29 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe on uniform provisions concerning the approval of vehicles with regard to the protection of the occupants of the cab of a commercial vehicle.

PROPOSED ACT: Council Decision.

IMPACT ASSESSMENT: no impact assessment was carried out.

CONTENT: this proposal aims to adopt, on behalf of the EU, the standardised requirements of Regulation No 29 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) on the approval of vehicles with regard to the protection of the occupants of the cab of a commercial vehicle.

BUDGETARY IMPLICATION: this proposal has no implications for the EU budget.
