Mobilisation of the EU Solidarity Fund: earthquake in Spain and flooding in Italy

The Committee on Budgets adopted the report drafted by Reimer BÖGE (PPE, DE) on the proposal for a decision of the European Parliament and of the Council on mobilisation of the European Union Solidarity Fund, in accordance with point 26 of the Interinstitutional Agreement of 17 May 2006 between the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission on budgetary discipline and sound financial management.

The proposal for a decision aims to mobilise EUR 37 979 875 in commitment and payment appropriations in 2011 to assist Spain and Italy hit respectively, by an earthquake and floods. An amending budget will be adopted in parallel to formally enter this adjustment into the Union’s 2011 budget (see BUD/2011/2301).
