2004 enlargement: adapting the financial reference of the 6th framework programme Euratom

PURPOSE : to increase the financial reference amount concerning the sixth framework programme of the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) for nuclear research and training activities, also contributing to the creation of the European Research Area (2002 to 2006). LEGISLATIVE ACT : Council Decision 2004/444/Euratom amending Decision 2002/668/Euratom to adapt the financial reference amount in order to take account of the enlargement of the European Union. CONTENT : this Decision provides that the financial reference amount framework programme for the implementation of the sixth framework programme for the period 2002 to 2006 shall be EUR 1352 million. The additional appropriations will be distributed in a linear fashion between the activities of the framework programme. The principle of linearity must be applied to the implementation of all the activities of the framework programme in compliance with Article 4 of Decision 2002/668/Euratom. The proportion assigned to each of the activities is fixed in Annex II, and Annex II will be replaced by the text set out in the Annex to this Decision.�
