Permitted health claims made on foods

The European Parliament rejected by 307 votes to 350, with 11 abstentions, the motion for a resolution on the draft Commission regulation amending Regulation (EU) No 432/2012 establishing a list of permitted health claims made on foods other than those referring to the reduction of disease risk and to children’s development and health.

The resolution, tabled on behalf of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, recommended the Parliament to oppose the adoption of the draft Commission regulation on the basis that the proposed regulation is not compatible with the aim and content of the basic act.
