Imports of certain textile products from third countries: repeal
PURPOSE: to repeal Council Regulation (EEC) No 3030/93 on common rules for imports of certain textile products from third countries.
LEGISLATIVE ACT: Regulation (EU) 2015/937 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 June 2015 repealing Council Regulation (EEC) No 3030/93 on common rules for imports of certain textile products from third countries.
CONTENT: this Regulation repeals Council Regulation (EEC) No 3030/93.
Council Regulation (EEC) No 3030/93 entered into force on 9 November 1993 and was applied as from 1 January 1993.
On 22 August 2012, Russia acceded to the World Trade Organization. As a consequence, Serbia remained the last country with which the European Union had a bilateral agreement on trade in textiles.
After Russia's accession to the WTO, and the entry into force, on 1 September 2013, of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with Serbia, Council Regulation (EEC) No 3030/93 lost its main purpose and therefore, should be repealed.
ENTRY INTO FORCE: 26.6.2015.
